Which languages can it translate?+
Speech in 90+ languages — including Spanish, Hindi, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian — can be translated into English text.
Can it translate into languages other than English?+
Not yet. The Whisper model translates from any language into English only. For other target languages, transcribe first with our Audio to Text tool and paste the text into a translator.
Is my audio uploaded?+
No. Translation runs on your own device inside the browser. The audio and the translation never touch a server.
How good is the translation?+
Good for getting the meaning of clear speech — interviews, voice notes, lectures, videos. For hard audio or rare languages, pick “Accurate” in the options. It's not a certified translation.
Can I translate a WhatsApp voice note or a video?+
Yes. Drop the voice note (.opus, .ogg, .m4a) or any video (MP4, MOV, WEBM) — only the audio is used. You can also record from your mic.
Is it free?+
