Is this subtitle generator really free?+
Yes — no sign-up, no watermark, no length limit. Subtitles are generated on your own device, so there's nothing for us to charge for.
Is my video uploaded?+
No. The video stays on your computer. Your browser extracts the audio and runs the Whisper speech model locally. Only the model itself is downloaded, once.
How do I add the subtitles to YouTube?+
Download the .srt file, open YouTube Studio → Subtitles → your video → Add language → Upload file → “With timing”, and pick the .srt.
Can I use the subtitles in Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or Final Cut?+
Yes. All of them import .srt files. VLC and most video players will also load an .srt automatically if it has the same name as the video.
Can I make English subtitles for a video in another language?+
Yes. Open the options and set Subtitle language to “English (translate)”. The speech is translated to English as the subtitles are generated.
Can I fix mistakes before exporting?+
Yes. When it finishes, click any subtitle line to edit it. The video preview and the SRT/VTT exports update instantly.
Can it burn the subtitles into the video?+
Not yet — it exports subtitle files (SRT/VTT), which every editor and platform accepts and which viewers can turn on or off.
